Jordan and Oman

What to see in Jordan

Jordan and Oman are not only steeped in history and magnificent scenery but also offer the opportunity to enjoy 5 star resort properties and experience the true culture of the region. Our Jordan and Oman triangle tour incorporates Jordan and Oman's main sights and a perfect blend of culture, dramatic scenery and relaxation. Beginning in Amman, you'll have time to explore the city highlights before moving on to Petra, the undisputed jewel of Jordan. Afterwards, you travel via the awe inspiring moonscapes of Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea. Thereafter you travel to Oman for a 3-night tour visiting some of the country's wadis and magnificent scenery, enjoying turtle watching at night, staying in a Bedouin tent in the desert, dune-bashing in a jeep and finally three nights at one of the country's most luxurious hotels.

Day 1  London - Amman

Fly from London to Amman with Royal Jordanian, where you will be greeted and driven to your hotel for a two night stay.

Day 2  A day in and around Amman

Today you will be picked up from your hotel and driven north to the impressive Roman site of Jerash, where a local guide will show you around the ruins. In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of Amman visiting the citadel and Roman theatre. Option: add an extra night to visit the Desert Castles

Day 3  Amman - Petra

From Amman you journey down the 5,000 year old King`s Highway to Petra, stopping to see Mount Nebo, with wonderful views over the Dead Sea as well as the Christian mosaics of Madaba and the crusader castle of Kerak. You arrive late afternoon in Petra for a two-night stay.

Day 4   Petra

Today you will enjoy a full guided tour of Petra (approximately 4 hours). Your private guide will show you around the highlights of this ancient city, allowing you some time on your own afterwards to explore at your leisure. Petra covers a vast area and you will be drawn from one area to the next by the fascination which captures every visitor.

Day 5   Petra - The Dead Sea

After breakfast you journey slightly further south to visit the amazing Wadi Rum, a moonscape in the red desert which you will explore by jeep (typical time 2 hours). From Wadi Rum, you veer back North to the Dead Sea where you can relax for two nights and enjoy excellent hotels, bathing in the salt waters and fantastic sunsets over the Dead Sea itself.

Day 6  The Dead Sea

A day of relaxation at the Dead Sea, swimming, sitting by the pool or taking a massage, many of which incorporate the mineral-rich mud which is drawn from the bed of the Dead Sea. Option: add an extra day to your stay on the Dead Sea

Proceed to view, but not ascend, Jabal Akhdar or Green Mountain which at its highest point is 2800m above sea level.
